MARRIAGE AND RECEPTION
St. Peter's Church
The most distinctive
feature of this church,
set in the old part of
town, is its large clock
face. With a diameter of
almost 9 meters, it is
the largest in Europe.
Whilst the church stands
on the site of a
pre-Romanesque structure
dating from the 9th
century, the main
surviving body of the
church dates from about
1700 and takes the form
of a striking Baroque
interior.
Zunfthaus zur Meisen
The reception venue is
this elegant late
Baroque house which was
built in the 18th
century as the guild
house of wine merchants.
The house now contains a
collection of some of
the most exquisite
pieces of 18th-century
porcelain by leading
European porcelain
makers and has set the
scene for many a stately
banquet. The Zunfthaus
zur Meisen is just a
stone's throw from St.
Peter's Church and is
located at Münsterhof, a
historic square in the
old town. From the
reception venue, you can
cross the bridge on 'Münsterbrücke'
which will take many of
you to your hotels,
located just on the
other side of the river
Limmat. It is well worth
a having a stroll around
here, weather and time
permitting of course.
